The driving force behind “Slump and Crinkle” & “Fold and Crease”, is a balance between chance and intention, pushed forward with the desire to have them come to life in their solid forms. Through a repetitive process of crushing, folding, mixing, pouring, peeling, and tearing they adopt each other’s qualities with each work echoing the remnants of the original material.
They are about exploring the materials abilities to transition and transform between its states of matter from powder to liquid to solid and rigid to soft. While the flat works on the wall highlight patterns and textures, the floor works have their own characters that exist with one another.
